TV Updates: A Gif Story

It's time to talk about all the exciting fall schedule news, brought to you by the fully renewed Happy Endings.

Community got picked up...

But is moving to Fridays.

30 Rock got renewed, for what may or may not be it's final season.  And only for 13 episodes.

Modern Family & Revenge obviously got full seasons.

Glee is moving to Thursday nights in attempt to kill The Office, 30 Rock, & Up All Night.

Mindy Kaling's show got picked up and is going to go after New Girl for a girly comedy block.

SVU is getting it's 14th season, but is moving to the 9 pm time slot (which means everything will have to be a wee bit toned down).

Another cycle of The Voice is happening, with new judges.  Because why not kill a good thing.

Whitney got renewed.  For a full 22 episodes.

Don't Trust the B in Apartment 23 got a full season, which means 22 episodes of Beek in the Creek.

And don't forget that Chris Meloni will be on True Blood.

Overall, all the shows I watch and love got picked up so this is pretty much me:

There's lots of exciting new shows coming out so I can't wait!  NBC is doing pretty much all comedy so I think we'll have a good time.  PLUS I just really need to express how happy I am about Happy Endings.  Like really.

Ok. Let's Discuss 30 Rock Live. Because I Went.

So last night, in case you missed my posts, tweets, check-ins, and excited ramblings, I went to go see 30 Rock's live episode, from here on out know as: THAT TIME I WAS IN THE SAME ROOM AS JON HAMM.

I'm not even going to pretend to give you an unbiased look at the quality of the episode, because it's real hard to have been that close to Tina Fey and then give an objective opinion (SUCH a professional I am).

Everyone in the cast seemed so nice & excited to be there.  There was just a happy energy PLUS we sat behind Stephen Baldwin so I could pretend that Alec Baldwin was really looking up to talk to me.

I'm also choosing to believe that Donald Glover and I locked eyes and sometime soon we're going to be great friends.  Yup.

Cheyenne Jackson warmed up the crowd by singing "Signed, Sealed, Delivered," and at that point I fell in love.  He looks a MILLION times better in real life and I'm pretty sure Stephen Baldwin thought I was having a stroke because my mouth was open for a solid three minutes.  Also, Cheyenne Jackson looks extremely attractive on TV so just let that simmer.

I hope you enjoyed the episode because I laughed my ass off.  I need them to do this again next week so Donald Glover and I can take the next steps to getting to know each other.  Make it happen, Tina Fey.

Tonight I'm Going to the Live Episode of 30 Rock

My friend Brian really likes to hook me up with the celebs.  He made me famous AND got Urkel to fall in love with me.  Now he got me tickets to see tonight's live episode of 30 Rock.  I CANNOT explain to you how excited I am for this.  CAN. NOT. I've seen every episode at least 15 times (I would be exaggerating, but I have that whole can't-sleep-at-night-Netflix-addiction thing going on).  Kate is coming with me and we couldn't be more excited.  While I can even let myself think about seeing Tina Fey in person (yup, read Bossypants three times), I WILL let my imagination wander to who the guest stars will be.  Last time they had Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jon Hamm (!), Matt Damon, and prob others I'm forgetting.  Sooo read the list I'm thinking/hoping they'll have this time after the jump.

So being in Vegas is making me wish I was here with my friends experiencing The Hangover.  Or at least the watered down version The Slight Hangover Caused by a Night of Drinking and Dancing, Not From Stealing a Tiger (coming to a theater near you!).  It has also made me ponder the attractiveness of Ed Helms.  You know what this means: TO THE COURTROOM!

The Office: Last Day In Florida

For a second there I thought we had the beginnings for the Dwight spinoff that's been rumbling about the interwebs.  Not yet, at least.  Last night we closed out Florida and came back to Dunder Mifflin, some a little sadder than when they left.  Read the episode highlights after the jump.

Post SNL Breakdown: What Did We Think of Lindsey?

Last night was judgement day and THE RETURN OF LINDSEY LOHAN, as we were told.  I felt bad for her because you could tell she was genuinely happy to have been given the opportunity and seemed really nervous.  I though she was the best when she was making fun of herself, but other than that it was pretty blah.  It seemed like SNL didn't want to give her the chance to flop so they played it safe.

HOWEVER.  We did get this gem and it's pretty much the only thing that matters.

Phenomenal.

The Office: Test the Store

The Office has always been one of my favorite shows, and it warms my heart when they have a truly hysterical episode.  It might be because I'm rewatching the series on Netflix (again), But I just really dug last night.  Plus the fact that Mindy Kaling wrote the episode.  Read this week's episode highlights after the jump.

What Did You Think of Awake?

Did you watch awake last night? I'm assuming you did and now we're moving on.  I 80% watched it because BD Wong was back on my TV and playing another lovable shrink.  He did not disappoint.

The show's getting a lot of buzz as the next Lost, which I am COMPLETELY fine with because I'm missing a lot of "I Don't Know Who I Am Or What I'm Watching, What Happened To Walt And Why Is No One Talking About Hurley's Dead Friends?" in my life.

I was kind of iffy about if this show was going to make the cut to my TV schedule (which, you can see is a little over stuffed) but since I normally just go to bed at 10 anyways and had nothing cramming the space DING DING Awake, you're made it to the next round.  You're going to Holllyyyyywwoooooddddd (in my mind new TV shows making my schedule are like American Idol auditions.  I, clearly, am J Lo).  Bed time aside, when the sexy/scary/ominous NBC announcer guy told me to watch the scenes for the upcoming season, it looked AMAZING and completely got me hooked.  I'm also all for anything that makes Malfoy's dad seem nice.  

SO JOURNEY WITH ME and we will discover this new mysterious show together.  Probs no recaps because BITCH IT IS 5:30 (haaaaaaaa) and I have other things to write about but we'll have chats like these.

Things That Are Happening: Lindsey Lohan Hosting SNL This Weekend

Here's the promo for LiLo's sure to be highly rated episode of SNL.  How could you NOT watch?

All I know is there HAS to be a revival of this skit.  If only because I just went to Hogwarts myself. (jealoussssssss?)

I can only hope that I look as good as she does when I too am in my late 40s.

So Long, Robert California

NBC has just confirmed that Robert California will no longer be apart of the Dunder Mifflin world next season.

He's the only character who's truly held back The Office from moving on from Steve Carrell.  And he was never really fully developed?  I say kick him off for next week.  

The show says, "he now leaves us having created one of the most enigmatic and dynamic characters in television." I thinkkkkk not.

A Passionate Surprise

Yesterday I came across this gem, a fun animated 30 Rock webisode in which Jack searches for a new Super Bowl act using past NBC theme songs.  I watched happily, unsuspecting of the greatness that was about to be bestowed on to me.  I was filled with glee when Michael McDonald did his rendition of the Saved by the Bell theme song.  BUT. THEN. out of no where Ryan Adam's sings the Passions' theme song.

I loved Passions.  LOVVVEEDDD.  If you don't know what it is, I'm not even going to bother explaining it to you because you won't understand.  But here's the cliff notes.  It was a PHENOMENAL soap on NBC that I would schedule my classes around and has since been tragically canceled.

So for all of you who are still in mourning (obv like me) here is the entire Passions' theme song, complete with photo montage.

In Mindy Kaling News...

I've always admired Mindy Kaling (she's a successful writer working in a dude dominated field), but ever since I read her book I've decided that we're friends.  She'll come to understand someday.

Anywho, the news.

She's nearing a deal with Fox to order a pilot.  She'll write and star in the show as a Bridget Jones-esque OB-GYN.  It would be PERFECT if Fox made this a comedy block with New Girl.  And Bridget Jones?  Say no more, I'm there.  The only sad news is this would prob mean Mindy would have to say good bye to The Office.  Booo
