This week Revenge got the dinner that was set up in last weeks table setting episode. So many twists and spoilers that I don't want to ruin, so read the highlights after the jump.
- Daniel has had the marriage bell planted in his brain and he can't wait any longer. He proposes to Emily at the spot they just met...and ominous clouds start rolling in. Pure coincidence and surely not foreshadowing anything. It starts pouring and the newly engaged couple kiss in the rain. How romantic.
- Emily decides it's time to clean up some of her messes. She gets the tapes she's stolen from the author and thinks hmmmmmm how many lives can I destroy with one item. Answer: About five or so.
- She mails the tape of her father declaring he is also Charlotte's father to Conrad. Oops.
- Conrad is at brunch with Charlotte and Declan, sharing the news that he will be paying for Wet Blanket's education. AHHHH WE CAN GO TO SCHOOL TOGETHER! AND NOW YOU WON'T WHINE ABOUT ME GETTING A QUALITY EDUCATION. Conrad is clearly buying Charlotte's alliance untillllllll somebody drops of a flash drive containing proof that she's not actually his daughter. Oops.
- So Conrad's pissed, to say the least. He storms into divorce proceedings and tells Victoria that not only is she getting NO money, he'll strip her of that Grayson name she loves so much. Another oops.
- Next on Emily's list: Fake Amanda and that whole finicky business of burning down the author's house. She already set Amanda up to look like she was interrogating the guy, and planted her lighter. Now she just needs to plant the stolen tapes. She tells Amanda the "whole story" of the Graysons and tells her to disappear for "her own safety." For some reason this dumb bitch finally gets it and hopefully leaves for good. She hides the tapes under Amanda's bed. Oops to follow.
- Nolan is getting more and more concerned about Emily's mental health. When she realizes that Charlotte is her sister, she's more excited for the revenge opportunities than she is about having family.
- Paternity tests come back on Charlotte, and Conrad Grayson:
- Normally a moment that we dance and scream I TOLD YOU BITCH! buttttt not tonight. Tonight we brood and tell our daughter to go back to your daughter to go hom to her mother. That girl has really been given the shit end of the stick.
- Jack get BEATEN by some dude's raiding Fake Amanda's stash. The dude gets all of the tapes (except one) and leaves Jack for dead.
- Emily is starting to have second thoughts on marrying Daniel and thinks it's time to press pause on her revenge. She needs to step back and regroup. This seems both normal and something we, as the audience, were thinking too. Shit's gotten too cray cray.
- Daniel sees his mother is upset and ask what's wrong. She (surprisingly) tells him she's made a mistake and the whole Charlotte business. And THEN she tells Daniel that the monter of a man, David Clarke, raped her and she's been living with this pain all these years. Daniel is more disgusted at his father for being pissed and gets closer with his mother out of sympathy. Well played Victoria, well played.
- Emily hear's about Jack's beat-up-ness and goes to visit him:
- Arreeeeee we sure there's no feelings there? (no.) Seeing him in his weakened condition, she starts to rethink the pause thing.
- Daniel comes over to chat and tells the story of his mother's rape. Emily is reminded how horrible these people are. REVENGE BACK ON.
Side Notes:
- Ashley is quickly becoming irrelevant, but I'm happy they finally addressed how she went from being BFFs with Emily to hating her without explanation.
- I think this revenge think might drive Nolan insane.
- Limited Wet Blanket. Another great episode.
- When the hell is this show coming back and why were we shown scenes from The River?
