Happy Endings: Makin' Changes

This weeks episode of Happy Endings ushered back my love of Penny. Jane suggests she try changing a guy to fit her needs, pointing out the scrubby guy in the hockey jersey. At home (or just me) when the word "scrub" is mentioned, the song automatically goes off in our heads. So when Penny replied completely straight-faced: 

 I died. The episode was sold. Read the rest of the highlights after the jump. 

• Alex and Max have become consumed with Intervention-esque shows about people hoarding magazines and then eating them. Max likes them because it makes his life look put together. Alex thinks its hysterical that he actually thinks that's true. 

• After hearing Jane brag to Penny about changing him to fit her needs, Brad decides its time to bring back Jackass obsessed Old Brad. (He was obsessed because there were never any black guys on the show. A brother can't staple his butts together too?). He decides to bring back Blackass and shoots the show in their living room. Jane is not impressed, even with his budding dread. 

• Penny begins to woman the scrub into being a functioning 30 year-old man. She OOPS accidentally ruins his hockey "costume" and just happens to have a replacement shirt in her bag. 
• With their new found knowledge of addiction, Alex and Max make the startling realization that Dave is a V-neck addict. He SLEEPS in them. He did four Vs in one day, that's almost five! They get rid of all his Vs, assuring that his life will be better. 
• Jane decides to make Brad happy and grateful that she's changed him and decides to deprive Old Brad of the things New Brad has come to enjoy. No more lavender bubble baths, Old Brad's tub was too busy being filled with 311 albums. 
• Alex and Max, being happy with their addiction elimination, rest their vigilance.  But wait.  BACKWARDS V.  Time for an inter-v-tion.  
• They stage an inter-v-tion and learn that V necks make Dave feel safe.  When he was bullied and they pulled his t-shirts, he was trapped.  He Vs gave him room to finagle a way out.  They're home.  Awwww.
• Jane mopes that Brad isn't happy she changed him and Max points out it's SO good that she only changed Brad and Brad changed NOTHING about about her.  Cut to Gwen Stefani Clone Old Jane.  Oops.

• Penny was so successful in changing the scrub that now his ex-girlfriend wants a piece.  Woooo! He's engaged!  Another oops.  
• Moral of the story: be happy with who you are (kind of).

Side Notes:

• Brad yelling, "Clutch the pearls!" at the end = me DEAD ON THE FLOOR.
• Sadly, Dave was not cured of his V addiction.

Another fantastic episode.  If you're not watching Happy Endings, it's going to be hard for us to be friends.
