The Office: Trivia

I love when The Office does it's random cold openings.  This week, every one's trying to break the record for how long they can keep the office silent.  Read after the jump for this week's highlights.

Highlights

  • So back to the silent thing.  Andy sees a raccoon eating a hamburger like human and makes this adorable face:

  • Andy needs to sell $800 worth of paper, today.  He's been buying paper himself, but now he has no more room for any paper.  Oscar tells him he's leaving early to go to a trivia competition in Philly, so naturallllllllyyyyyy the logical idea is to win the $1,000 prize and not disappoint Robert California.  Jim and Darrell are all for the idea, and convince Andy to make happen.
  • Meanwhile, Dwight has flown to Florida to have a meeting with Robert California about being a printer sale manager.  We get to see Gabe in an more demeaning position than he stands around in while at Scranton.  Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays he confronts his deathly fear of flying and works as the office "toilet" in his squirrel office.
  • Andy takes the gang to Oscar's bar for trivia, which ends up being a gay bar--but it's ok, he'll trying anything (well not anything).  They break up into three groups: The A-Team, The Back-Ups, and The Good Timers.  First question: what is the capital of the state that was on Ray Charles' mind?  The Good Timers seem hopelessly dumb.  But "SEE-attle" was an hysterical answer.
  • The Good Timers use up their plethora of useless knowledge, like Lamar winning 6th man being a big story line on Khloe and Lamar.
  • Dwight keeps getting the shove off about his printer sales pitch and Gabe is soaking up his defeat.  Dwight realizes he's being mocked and demands to be taken to Robert California's house.
  • Ryan gets kicked off of trivia night because he gets caught "probably checking his Grindr account."  But really he just can't be away from his phone.
  • The Good Timers make it to the top three with the Queerenstain Bears and Oscar's group to battle it out.  Erin, Princess Ding-Dong, uses her crazy boat knowledge and they pull ahead.
  • In Florida, Dwight finds that Robert does this once a month for his exercise:

  • Robert tells Dwight that the job is just not for him, and crushes his dream.
  • The Good Timers win it with a French film that Marion Cotillard exposes herself a number of times in.  The group wins and the office gets it's money.  Robert California is happy for another quarter. Wooo!!!
Side Notes:
  • I love how Gabe is being turned into even more of a spineless bastard.
  • Can we get rid of Robert California already?  He's really holding the show back.
Catch The Office Thursday nights at 9 on NBC
